Adding a New or Used Vehicle using Add Unit Advanced

Home Management Add New Unit (Advanced) or Add Used Unit (Advanced)

To Add a New or Used Vehicle to inventory:

1. Select Add New Unit (Advanced) or Add Used Unit (Advanced) from the CDK Vehicle Main Menu.

2. Select your location from the drop down menu, If necessary.

3. If you have a Stock Number or Production Number to assign, enter it in the field.  If you need to search for it, click Advanced Search.

4. If you DO NOT have a Stock Number/Production Number, simply click OK.

5. Enter the VIN in the Enter VIN field provided on the VIN Launchpad window.

6. Click OK.

7. At this point, one of the following will happen:

7a. A new Vehicle Inventory record (Add New/Used Unit Advanced) screen for this vehicle will open. Information retrieved from the VIN is automatically added to the record. Use the rest of the fields and tabs to enter in additional information about this vehicle. Note that fields with bold text are required. For help, press F1 or click Help.

7b. You may be prompted to enter information to help identify the vehicle, such as series or model. Then, the vehicle inventory record screen (Add Unit Advanced) will open for you to add or edit information in.

8. Click Save when finished.
