Changing a Vehicle's Status

You may need to change a vehicle's Inventory Status or Availability. For example, a recall may affect specific vehicles so  they should not be sold. In such a case, the Availability should be changed to "Not Available" so these vehicles are not accessible to deals.

Perform the following steps to change a vehicle's status:

  1. From the Vehicle Management menu, select Vehicle Search to display the Vehicle Search screen.

  2. To retrieve data for this particular vehicle, type the vehicle identification number at the VIN field.

  3. The vehicle should be displayed in the results table. Click the Edit icon (in the Action column just to right of the camera icon) to display the Vehicle Inventory screen.

  4. On the menu, select Actions > Status Changes & Release Actions to display the Status Change and Release window.

  5. In the Status Change section, select the desired Status and/or Availability.

  6. Click Change Status to return to the Vehicle Inventory screen. The Inventory Status and Availability have been updated with your selected preferences.

Note: Status changes and availability can also be edited from the Actions menu in both the New and Used Inventory screens.
